Sola wood flowers are handcrafted blooms made from the soft, natural wood of the sola plant. They're carefully shaped and finished to look just like fresh florals — and they're surprisingly soft to the touch, with lightweight petals that feel delicate, not stiff.
Sola wood comes from a tapioca plant root. It is a tropical species of the Euphorbiaceae (spurge) family. Poinsettias and castor oil plants also belong to this family. The tapioca plant is known by many names: cassava, manioc, arrowroot, and sometimes yuca (don't get that confused with the yucca succulent plant). Cassava (Tapioca) plants grow in tropical climates. These plants are extremely drought resistant.
Sola wood flowers are made by hand, out of sholapith. A soft fast-growing wood. Once turned into flexible sheets, the flowers are then hand-folded into various shapes. Our entirely hand-made process is why our flowers are different and can be formed to replicate various live flowers.

When correctly cared for, sola wood flowers last for a very long time and will not expire! Keep them in a cool, dry place and remove them from the bag as soon as they arrive. If you dye your flowers, try to keep them out of direct sunlight and humid rooms.
Our flowers are relatively soft and made entirely by hand. They may lose a bit of shape but fear not, this can easily be fixed by fluffing the flowers.

Yes but they may run into issues over time if exposed to severe heat, water or humidity. Some customers apply clear coat if they want to keep their flowers outdoors.
